Crewe Alexandra will aim to make it six consecutive away games without defeat when they travel to in-form Doncaster Rovers this afternoon (Saturday, 3pm).

Lee Bell’s side, who start the game fourth in League Two, will want put last weekend’s home defeat to Morecambe behind them.

The Opposition

Rovers sit 20th in Sky Bet League Two but have only lost one of their last seven games.

They have won eight out of their 17 fixtures at Eco-Power Stadium this season.

The Gaffer

Former West Ham youth player Grant McCann played over 500 games throughout his career, including 100 for Peterborough, before starting a career as a coach.

He has been Posh boss twice, took charge of Hull City between 2019-2022, and was appointed manager at Doncaster for a second time at the end of last season.

Fighting Talk

Lee Bell: “Our away performances have been good. We’ve had to show both sides of our game. Doncaster have been on a good run of form and have a real threat at the top end of the pitch. We must build on our recent away form and bounce back from last Saturday’s disappointment.”

Grant McCann: “Crewe are a good team; well coached and well drilled. They have good players all through the team and it's no surprise where they are. It's a very tough game for us. But it is an opportunity for another three points for us. We have got stronger than last time we played each other."

Head-to-Head

The two sides have met 108 times. Doncaster have won 43 compared to Crewe's 38. The remaining 27 games have been drawn.

In the reverse fixture, Crewe took all three points at Mornflake Stadium with a 3-2 thriller. Connor O’Riordan got a brace for the Alex, including a late winner.

Match Officials

Craig Hicks is the referee for today’s clash. Declan Ford and Danny Guest will accompany him as assistants. Steven Copeland will be the fourth official.

Hicks has handed out 55 yellow cards and four red cards in the 16 games he has taken charge of this season.
