New Crewe Alexandra signing Nicky Hunt earned a 12-month contract after impressing during the summer on trial.

The former Bolton & Notts County full-back was pleased to earn his deal having been impressed by the Alex set-up. 

Hunt said: "I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here during pre-season & it's been great.

"I've had four weeks to prove myself & ultimately I've got a deal at the end of it.

"The Club's got everything. Facilities-wise, it's got a lot more than most League Two & League One Clubs. You don't realise that until you've been about like I have. 

"The lads are great, the gaffer's ethos is all about hard work to get us where we want to be, & that's what we're trying to focus on now."
