31 July 2018

Experienced Defender Nicky Hunt has agreed a deal to join Crewe Alexandra on a one-year-contract.

The 34-year-old had been without a Club since leaving Notts County following the conclusion of the 2017/18 season, but impressed Dave Artell & his coaching staff whilst on trial.

Hunt has been training with the Alex for the entirity of the pre-season campaign, and has featured in a number of pre-season friendlies - having already settled into the dressing room as part of the group.

The vastly experienced right-back has over 400 professional appearances to his name, and boasts five years of Premier League experience during his ten-year professional association with Bolton after graduating through their youth ranks.

Leaving Wanderers in 2010, he linked up with Bristol City in the Championship & played for two seasons before short spells at Preston & Rotherham.

Moving into League Two with Accrington Stanley in 2013 after a successful loan, he made 80 appearances in 18-months before choosing to join Mansfield Town in 2015.

The last three seasons have merited solitary one-year spells at Mansfield, Leyton Orient & then Notts County - where he made 19 appearances in all competitions last year as the Magpies reached the play-offs.

Nicky will wear the number 29 shirt at Gresty Road & everyone would like to officially welcome him to the Club.
