Crewe Alexandra players will never stop fighting to achieve their promotion dream.

That’s according to Conor Thomas, who says The Railwaymen are relishing the eight-game run-in.

The midfielder admitted it was a disappointment to lose at MK Dons last time out.

But with Crewe sitting fifth and just three points off the automatic promotion places, he believes there is everything to play for.

Thomas said: “There are eight games left and we’d rather be disappointed because we missed an opportunity (at MK Dons), than have nothing to fight for.

“We are working hard and fighting and we want to be at the right end of the table. We have to embrace it and hopefully we can repay everyone at the Club because they have been great with us.

“We have to focus on ourselves. If we win enough games and pick up enough points we will be alright.

“Whatever happens now there will be no lack of trying and working hard. The fans have been massive – home and away. I can’t speak highly enough of them, they make such a big difference. Hopefully they can push us over the line.”
