Injury Update|Tabiner, Williams, Long & Offord

7 March 2024

Joel Tabiner will be back in Crewe Alexandra’s squad to face Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.

The midfielder, who recently returned to action after four months out with an ankle injury, missed last weekend’s match due to illness.

But, according to Assistant Manager Ryan Dicker, he is well again and vying for a place at Eco-Power Stadium.

Defender Zac Williams is also available after coming through 60 minutes of Monday’s Under-21s game unscathed.

Striker Christopher Long (thigh) is making progress, while skipper Luke Offord’s ankle surgery last week has been hailed a success.

Dicker said: “Joel wasn’t well last weekend but he will be back in contention for Doncaster.

“Zac is back with us as normal and is up to speed. We have to be mindful of injury prevention with him to make sure he doesn’t he doesn’t suffer a reoccurrence.

“Chris Long is running fine and now is getting to the stage where we can step up his ball striking. He’ll be another couple of weeks.

“We are told that Luke’s operation went well, which is good news. He will now start the next steps of his rehabilitation process.”

Charlie Finney (calves) is continuing to close in on a first-team return, while Jack Powell (knee) and Owen Lunt (back) remain on the long-term injury list.
