‘We must maintain standards against Swindon’ - Boss

12 January 2024

Crewe Alexandra must forget recent triumphs and give full attention to Swindon Town tomorrow (Saturday, 3pm).

That’s according to Manager Lee Bell, who says the wins over Mansfield Town and Bradford City are in the past.

He wants his players to focus on the Robins, who are in a sticky run with just one win in the last seven outings.

Bell said: “Swindon are a good team with good players and a good Manager, so we have to be respectful of them. I thought they were excellent when we played them at their place.

“We have picked up a couple of good results but that’s gone now and we have to focus on the detail and information the players need and make sure we have the hunger to pick up another three points.

“We have made our home a difficult place for teams to come to and we have to maintain those standards.”

Crewe fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Swindon in August, with Zac Williams and Rio Adebisi on target.

Crewe will start the contest in fifth place while Swindon lie 15th.
