Ryan Dicker reckons Crewe Alexandra will face their most difficult assignment of the season at Mansfield Town tomorrow (Saturday, 3pm).

The Stags will play host in a first away game of 2024 for The Railwaymen, and they are unbeaten at One Call Stadium in League Two.

In fact, Nigel Clough’s side have only lost once all season and sit in second place – two points behind leaders Stockport County with two games in hand.

But the Assistant Manager says weaknesses in the Mansfield armoury have been identified.

Dicker said: “It’ll be very difficult - I think they are probably the best team in the league.

“They have terrific players, really good experience and goals in all areas of the pitch. It doesn’t surprise me where they sit in the table so we have to be at our best to get a result.

“We are working hard this week to put a plan together to expose various weaknesses in their team.”

The Alex are unbeaten in four visits to Mansfield in all competitions, and the sides shared a 2-2 draw at Mornflake Stadium on the opening day of 2023-24.

Mickey Demetriou and Rio Adebisi were on target as Lee Bell’s side fought back from 2-0 down.
