Jackson's team included first-teamer Tom Booth for the first time since his injury that he picked up in the first half at Tranmere Rovers earlier this month.

The Alex started the game positively and enjoyed plenty of possession creating most of the opportunities and there goal came moments later.

Muhammed Jatta squared the ball across the box for Woodcock who finished cooly into the back of the net to give Crewe the lead.

In the 20 minutes that followed didn't include any big chances at either end of the pitch.

But the Latics levelled through Luke Brennan, who slotted the ball under Booth after good link-up play with Dylan Dwyer.
