Injury Update|Tabiner, Thomas, Finney & Williams

22 February 2024

Joel Tabiner could be part of a Crewe Alexandra matchday squad for the first time in almost four months, at Notts County this weekend.

The midfielder, who has been kept out of action by an ankle injury since the end of October, is back in full training.

Manager Lee Bell also revealed that midfielder Conor Thomas is back after a short spell out with a calf problem, while Charlie Finney (calves) and Zac Williams (ankle) are expected to return to full training next week.

“Tabs has got the all-clear so he will rejoin the group,” he said.

“He has been working really hard on his overall fitness so he will be able to integrate straight in, and more than likely be on the bench this weekend, which is really pleasing.

“Charlie is a bit further behind – he's had a big operation on both of his calves – so he will be another week or so, but he’s going well.

“Zac Williams can rejoin the group next week and hopefully be available for the following weekend, which is also pleasing.”

Christopher Long remains sidelined due to a thigh injury, while Zak Kempster-Down has been told to rest a groin problem.

Owen Lunt is still struggling with a back injury. Jack Powell (knee) and Luke Offord (ankle) are expected to miss the rest of the season.
