Bell: ‘We’ll take that and move on’

11 February 2024

Lee Bell was pleased to pocket three points against Crawley Town and move on with confidence.

Rio Adebisi’s third goal of the season earned a 1-0 success at Mornflake Stadium yesterday (Saturday) and completed a league double over the Red Devils.

Now Crewe will visit leaders Stockport County on Tuesday, before clashes with promotion rivals Harrogate Town and Notts County.

Manager Bell said: “In the end it was enjoyable. I was pleased with the performance – the front three were a threat all afternoon, looking to get in behind them.

“We should have scored a couple more but we will take that and move on. We totally nullified (Crawley) and it’s great to get another clean sheet.”

He added: “Rio did brilliantly to arrive in the box and take his goal; it just showed his athleticism. I thought the lads’ energy and aggression was excellent.

“Harvey (Davies) looked comfortable and assured in his first start for a while, which is pleasing for him.

“That’s two clean sheets for him really. The defenders want more clean sheets too and it’s important that we are able to keep the ball out of the net.”
