Crewe Alexandra players should use last month’s defeat to Morecambe as motivation when the two sides meet again tomorrow (Tuesday, 7.45pm).

That’s according to Manager Lee Bell, who says the manner of that 3-2 reverse at Mornflake Stadium should still hurt.

The Railwaymen led 2-0 going into the final 20 minutes but The Shrimps hit back with three late goals to take the points.

Now, as the team prepare to face off at Mazuma Stadium, Crewe have an opportunity to set the record straight.

Bell said: “I hope that game is still in the players’ minds - we should have seen that game out. I hope it is motivation, and we have to put a plan together and go there looking for three points.”

Crewe were without 10 injured first-teamers in the 0-0 draw at Accrington on Saturday, and do not expect to have any back at Morecambe.

Bell added: “We have to be positive. We’ll keep going, and I’ve told the players they have to go again on Tuesday. That’s what you have to do if you want to be successful – get your brain to tell your legs they are okay.”
