Injury Update | Nevitt, White, Williams, Long & Tabiner

30 November 2023

Elliott Nevitt’s calf injury is not as bad as feared, according to Ryan Dicker.

The Assistant Manager admitted that Crewe Alexandra staff were worried the striker would be sidelined for some time when he limped out of Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Sutton.

But Nevitt will be ready to line up against Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup Second Round on Saturday (3pm).

However, midfielder Joe White (ankle) is a doubt.

Dicker said: “We were fearing the worst but, fortunately, Nev has been responding really well to treatment and he should be fully fit for Saturday.

“Joe’s ankle ballooned up on the way home from Sutton. Luckily, he’s not in any discomfort and the swelling has come down. He’s probably 50/50 for Saturday.”

Meanwhile, Dicker provided an update on longer-term absentees Zac Willams (ankle), Christopher Long (thigh) and Joel Tabiner (foot).

He added: “Zac is back out running on the grass and Longy will join in with that on Monday.

“Joel will be coming out of his protective boot in the next couple of days and then he will get rescanned to see if he has fully healed.

“Fingers crossed, we will add some faces back to the group over the next few days or so.”
