Charles Grant says Crewe Alexandra supporters have given everybody at the club a ‘great lift’, after season ticket sales improved on last year.

The Chairman has thanked fans who have backed The Railwaymen by buying more tickets for 2023-24 than were sold at the equivalent time last summer.

Mr Grant says the support will come as a boost to Lee Bell and his players, as well as everyone connected to the club, both in terms of finances and vocal support.

He explained: “We are around 200 up on the previous year and we’ve seen about the same number - 200 - become new season ticket holders.

“It’s fantastic, and I can only thank the fans. We’ve still got a way to go, because a lot of people delay getting their season tickets until later in the year, but it’s a great start!

“There are still deals, particularly for kids and families, and I hope it carries on the way it started.”

The Chairman added: “It’s a great lift for everybody. We know about the cost-of-living crisis, because it affects the club in the same way that it affects everybody.

“We didn’t want to put season ticket prices up, but the club is trying to survive. The supporters have stood up and that's fantastic. 

“It doesn’t make the challenge of next season any smaller, but it gives everybody a lift.”

The first price window for season tickets closed on June 2, and surpassed sales in the first window last year.

The deadline to buy tickets within the second price window is June 30.
