Lee Bell is targeting another set of strong results over the festive period to back up the spell that has earned him another Manager of the Month nomination.

The boss is in the running to be named Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month for November, after collecting seven points from three games.

Now with Saturday’s trip to Grimsby Town set to kick off a spell of seven games in little more than three weeks, Bell is aiming for more of the same.

He said: “The nomination is pleasing for the staff and the players because they are working so hard. It’s more credit to them than me.  

“I keep saying the same words but it’s true – they are a pleasure to be around and this shows how we are pulling in the same direction and we want to achieve something.

“It’s a heavy schedule for us now but I love this time of the year – I always did.

“The old cliché that players prefer games to training rings true. We have to look after the players between games as best we can but it is an exciting time.

“We have got some tough fixtures but the players are really looking forward to it.”
