"Pre-Season Will Be Brutal For Them"

4 May 2022

Boss says players will have to become more robust to last gruelling season in League Two.

Alex Morris has told the club’s official website that his players will work to individual programs in the offseason before pre-season training commences on 22nd June.  The Crewe Alexandra boss has outlined his summer preparation with a succession of zoom meetings with his players.

They will have a two-week complete break before starting their conditioning work ahead of the new season.

Morris told crewealex.net:  “The players will have a complete two-week break and after that they will have a program to work with at home before they will come in twice a week on a Tuesday and Thursday to do cardiovascular and weight conditioning.

“That is to make sure they are in shape and ready for when pre-season starts again on 22nd June. Pre-season is going to be brutal for them, both mentally and physically to make sure they are game ready and battle hardened for the challenges ahead.

He added: “It is going to be hard but we have to make sure they are ready, mentally and physically for what a 50 plus game season entails.”
