Kenny Lunt has told the club’s official website that the staff have been impressed with the condition of the players on their return to full-time pre-season.
The club’s Player Development Manager says that the training ground is buzzing in anticipation of the new season starting at the end of next month.
Crewe have their first pre-season friendly ay local neoghbours Nantwich this weeekend.
Lunt has told crewealex.net: “The players have come back in good shape and we have been impressed with their fitness level. It is clear that they have kept themselves fit during their down time and it was like Christmas Day when they came back in.
“I’m sure they would have said it has been tough so far but the hard work will pay off. I am sure they are excited as us to get going again and start playing the games. We have the new faces in, we would like a couple more if we can to make the team and the squad more competitive and we will work on that.
Lunt added: “The new players have settled in quickly and it is about building those relationships on and off the pitch. “
