Latest signing Charlie Colkett says he ‘felt the energy and ambition’ of the football club staff when deciding on where his next destination would be this summer.
The 25-year-old midfielder signed a two-year deal with Crewe following a short spell in League One with Cheltenham and now the former Chelsea youngster is focussed on having a substantial run of games to establish himself again.
The Londoner told the club’s official website: “I am delighted to be here, settled and I just can’t wait to get going again.
“It is nice to be this side of the window for once and to have that positive interest. Talks were on-going for 10 days or so and when we had those phone calls and zoom calls, I just felt the energy, the togetherness and the ambitions they have for next season and moving forward.
“The people are just as important as the football and I want to do well for the club and have a successful season. I think the style will suit my game and I am delighted to be at a great club and I want to repay the faith they have shown in me.
Charlie added: “I am looking to express myself and show people what I am about and what I can do. I want a clean run, get my games in and show exactly what I am about. I am just grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get going again.”
