Bell says he remains confident that more new recruits will arrive soon to bolster squad options.
Crewe Alexandra’s assistant manager, Lee Bell, says that it has been a real positive six weeks and he is targeting another positive period ahead of the new season, which kicks off early this year on July 30th.
Bell and the rest of the Crewe staff have been pleased with the players we have been able to bring in thus far and pre-season preparations have gone accordingly with challenges lined up against the likes of Rotherham, Barnsley and West Bromwich Albion.
Bell told the club’s official website: “It has been a real positive last month to six weeks and it is going well. We have managed to get some new players into the building and credit to the three that we have so far because they all had interest from higher levels.
“We are still making contact with people, with agents and players about getting more bodies in the squad and looking to improve our team and we remain confident on that.
“Season ticket sales have gone well as we know about, so we can only thank the supporters for that after the tough season we had. It is very impressive in what they have done to show backing to the club and to the team and we want to repay that with some exciting football.
Lee added: “We have implemented some plans and we all cannot wait for the players to all come back for full pre-season training. It is going to be a tough one but one we know will allow the players to get the best out of themselves as well.”
