Lee Bell has urged his players to make it three league wins on the spin when Newport County visit Mornflake Stadium tonight (Friday, 7.45pm).

Bell, who has been confirmed as permanent Crewe Alexandra manager, guided the side to victories over Colchester United and Swindon Town last month.

Now he wants another three points – but acknowledges it will be tough against Graham Coughlan’s team.

Bell said: “Momentum is big in football and we want to sustain that in the league. We want to put on a decent performance, and I hope the players can deliver that.

“There is always a responsibility, but particularly at home, to go out with the attitude and mentality that we want to win.

“He’s done a brilliant job (Coughlan) since he’s gone in. He’s picked them up in the league, and implemented a style and structure of how they play.

“We know what to expect. It’s going to be a highly competitive game, high intensity from both teams, so we’ve got to match them and do more.”
