Alex Morris says that the motivation of playing at stadiums such as Hillsborough should be at the forefront of a promotion push next season.

Crewe travel to Sheffield Wednesday this evening aiming to build on Saturday’s morale boosting victory over AFC Wimbledon and also dent the play-off chances of the hosts.

The Interim Alex boss told the club’s official website: “Sheffield Wednesday have plenty to play for and are aiming to cement their place in the play-offs, so that should help with the intensity and desire of our play.

“We have to go to Hillsborough and be as competitive as we can be. We cannot guarantee the outcome but we can be as competitive as we were on Friday.

“We have been lucky enough to have visited some unbelievable stadiums this season and Hillsborough will be another one. Unfortunately, we have lost the chance to do that again next season, so that has to be the motivation for any player to return to League One and revisit these stadiums again.

He added: “We want to be visiting these big clubs and big stadiums and use that to become a League One club again as soon as we can.”
