Crewe Alexandra’s right-back, Kayne Ramsay, is fully expected to recover and be available for this weekend’s home game against Cambridge United.
Ramsay suffered an allergic reaction on the pitch against Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday evening and had to be replaced minutes into the second half by Travis Johnson.
Crewe drew the game 1-1 and after being checked over by the paramedics, he was permitted to travel back with the squad.
Artell explained to the club’s official website: “Kayne is fine. He had a couple of antihistamines and put his face in a bucket full of ice and that got the swelling down. He got checked over and was fine to travel back with us.
“He will be fine and we expect him to train tomorrow and be available for Saturday.”
