Crewe Alexandra defender Billy Sass-Davies won his fourth Under-21 cap for Wales when coming on in stoppage time for Sam Bowen in a 1-0 away defeat to Moldova.
The young Dragons were chasing the game against Moldova after conceding in the 20th minute of the game to defender Dinis Ieseanu.
Paul Bodin’s side couldn’t force home an equaliser. It was a set-back in their quest to qualify for the UEFA Under-21 Euro tournment. Wales have four points in the group and trail Switzerland, Bulgaria, Moldova and the Netherlands, who they play next tomorrow evening.
