Artell: "There Are No Major Secrets Between Ourselves And Bolton"

11 November 2021

David Artell is hoping that our consistent record against Bolton Wanderers can continue this evening. The Alex enjoyed cup success last season but Ian Evatt’s side were more focussed on winning promotion back to League One.

Crewe won 3-2 at the University of Bolton Stadium last season in the EFL Trophy and in the FA Cup.

Bolton come into the game on a run of five league games without a win and were held to a 2-2 draw by Conference side Stockport County in the FA Cup.

Artell told the club’s official website: “We played Bolton twice there last season in the cups and won them both, so that is the aim again.

“They are a good side and made a strong start to the season on their return to League One but they will be looking to get back to winning way themselves are hitting a tougher patch of results.

“I am not sure that we have any secrets. I have been manager for 5 years and Bolton would have done their homework on how I set them up and how we like to play. Our analyst here does the same, so it is a team of players and manager we know quite well.

"I am not sure there will be too many surprises.

“It is another opportunity for three points and we know that only ourselves can turn it around. We are more than capable of going on a run and a result at Bolton would be the ideal starting point going into a busy period of fixtures.”
