Boss says he will aim to improve his squad all over the pitch this summer.
David Artell has told the club’s official website that he is looking to ‘improve his squad all over the pitch’ this summer. The Crewe Alexandra manager said last week that depending on who agrees to sign a new deal, the club could be in for as many as ten new players during the summer window.
The Alex boss is still waiting on decisions from the likes of Omar Beckles, Chris Porter, Ryan Wintle and Callum Ainley.
David told the club’s official website: “We will look to improve all over the pitch. We will be looking at all positions because the key to recruitment is to bring in good players.
“We will try and bring in the best players possible and the work on that started a long time ago.
“We also have to work on our players and look to improve them and the summer allows us to do that. They will have a short break and then will be in twice a week to tick things over.
He added: “If we can improve our own, like I think we have done with the likes of Owen Dale, Tom Lowery, Oli Finney to name a few, then that puts us in a better position for next season.”
