Artell On Free Two Weeks To Plan For Easter Games

23 March 2021

Alex boss prepares for Easter games against Hull and MK Dons as we enter the cruical run-in.

David Artell says that the free week without a League One fixture will be welcome one to allow his players the chance to recharge mentally and physically. Crewe do not have a mid-week fixture after completing 36 games thus far with our next fixture another tough one with league leaders Hull City coming to Gresty Road on Good Friday.

Our scheduled weekend fixture against Charlton Athletic has been postponed due to the Addicks having a number of International call-ups.

Artell told the club’s official website: “With the amount of games we have had, it is probably a good time to have the break. Any break is welcome and it will give the players the chance to recover physically and recuperate mentally.

“We have 10 games left and the Easter programme can change things very quickly as well.

“We won our last game against Northampton, so perhaps the players would want another game very quickly, but on the other end, some of them would welcome a little rest before we go again.

“I suppose only time will tell in the next 10 fixtures.”
