David Artell believes we have signed a ‘real cracker’ in experienced midfielder, Shaun MacDonald.

The former Rotherham United man has signed a two-year deal and Artell feels that the former Wales Under-21 International will relish the chance to play more football in central midfield.

Artell told the club’s official website: “Shaun has had a good career and is a good footballer and we are delighted to have signed him. I think we have a real cracker if I am honest and he will be pivotal for us.

“One of the main reasons for him deciding to come here is that we play the right way. He wants to play football and get the ball off the back players and start moves off.

“He is relishing the chance to do that.

He added: “He is good character, a real good character and he will fit right in.”
