The club’s assistant manager, Kenny Lunt, believes it will be the ideal time in pre-season to play Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Lunt appreciates that whoever appears for the Premier League outfit will be a challenge but the club’s assistant says that it will all be about fitness levels and developing relationships.
Lunt has told the club’s official website: “It is the right time to be playing a team like Wolves. They will have more of the ball and we know it will be hard at times but we have to concentrate on ourselves and what we want to get out of it ourselves.
“We want to get fitter and work on the things we have done in training. We want to see some of those things and develop those relationships. That is the important thing. We want to remain injury free and it should be a good game against top players.
“It will be a great experience for our lads. The major difference will be the movement and how quickly they move the ball.
“It will be a really good challenge and of course a different standard to what we have been used to against the non-league sides we have played so far, but it is all about being ready for that first game of the season and this will be a part of that.”
