Artell says Dale are doing everything in their power to get the game on this weekend.

David Artell is hoping that Saturday’s game at Rochdale gets the go-ahead. The adverse weather conditions over the country is sure to put fixtures in doubt but the Alex boss is keeping his fingers crossed that our game survives.

Crewe and Rochdale re-arranged the fixture for this weekend after the game was originally postponed just after Christmas due to recorded Covid-19 cases in the Rochdale camp.

Ahead of the trip to the Crown Oil Arena, Artell: “I hope the game goes ahead and all we can do is wait and see with the weather. Both clubs want the game on and Rochdale are doing everything they can.

“They have the cover on the pitches and if the game is on then great but if it’s not we roll on to next week.

“We cannot over think things. We have trained today and prepared like we always do and it’s lap of the Gods.

He added: “Hopefully, the sun will come out and shine over the Crown Oil Arena.”
