Alex boss prepares for Fleetwood away test

David Artell expects another tough away assignment against Fleetwood Town this evening. The Alex will be aiming to bounce back after losing 2-0 at Wigan Athletic on Saturday and Artell appreciates that with the vastly experienced Simon Grayson in charge, it will be a difficult away game at Highbury tonight.

Grayson has a wealth of experience having managed the likes of Blackpool, Leeds, Preston, Sunderland and Huddersfield during his superb career. The 51-year-old has now guided Fleetwood to 14th spot and a point above the Alex in League One having succeeded Joey Barton back in late January.

Ahead of tonight’s game, Artell told us: “Fleetwood are just above us in the table, so there is an incentive right there to get the points and go above them. That is the challenge.

“Simon (Grayson) is a very experienced manager and knows his stuff. He has managed some big clubs and knows this league and the Championship.

“He came to our game against Portsmouth and would have seen two committed sides that night.

“It should be a good game. Simon likes his sides to play the right way and it is going to be tough at their place. It is a tough place to go and we will have to be more creative in the final third than we were on Saturday if we are going to win the game.”
