Crewe Alexandra are hopeful that the injury to defender Donervon Daniels suffered against Wigan Athletic is not too serious.
The summer signing from Luton Town played the opening 13 minutes before he suffered a muscular problem when going close to opening the scoring. Daniels was denied a tap in and first goal for the club by the Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Jamie Jones and after suffering the unfortunate injury, had to be replaced by Omar Beckles.
Artell explained to the club’s official website: “I haven’t spoken to Owen (Clarke) about Donervon since Saturday and I will catch up with him this morning.
“I don’t think it is as bad as it could've been but that is from the assessment on Saturday. We are hoping that it is days rather than weeks. I don’t know the time scale on it but we are hopeful that it is not too serious.
“Olly Lancashire will train today. He made himself fit and available for selection on Saturday, so we will see how is in training. He has been fine and come through the injury really well. He worked hard to get back as quickly as he could.”
