Artell: "Sunderland Experience Was A Great Learning Curve For All Of Us"

23 October 2020

Boss says that Sunderland showed the level of League One in 1-0 win.

David Artell has told the club’s official that his squad could not fail to learn from Tuesday’s defeat at Sunderland. The Crewe Alexandra manager says that the Black Cats thoroughly deserved the three points thanks to their 1-0 win at the Stadium of Light.

As he prepares his side for another tough away assignment at in-form Doncaster, the Alex boss said: “It was a great learning curve for all of us. We have learned that if we are a little bit off then it is going to be a long afternoon or night.

“If we can get it right how we want to play then I think we can be a match for anyone. We have been a bit below bar in both games. One team was good enough to take full advantage of that and one wasn’t (Blackpool).

He added: “I think there will be two or three teams who will be good enough and will up there and include Sunderland in that. They were superior to us on the night but for the rest so far, the league has been much of a muchness really.”
