Lunt: "These Are The Games Players Want To Be Involved In"

2 March 2020

Kenny Lunt says that Crewe Alexandra will be ‘going all out to get three points’ against promotion rivals, Exeter City, tomorrow evening. The club’s assistant manager says that the desire to win football matches does not change regardless if we are playing Morecambe or Exeter.

Ahead of our mid-week encounter at St. James’ Park, Lunt told us: “It will be no different at Exeter; we will try and win the game. It is still three points up for grabs.

“That doesn’t change. No-one rolls over and lets you win football matches, so we have to earn the right to play, be better than our opposite number and work harder than them.

“That is what you have to do and if you play well as individuals and as a team then you have a very good chance of winning the game.

He added: “We can take the positives from the performance at Plymouth. It was a top of the table game and the performance was good. They showed that they were not fazed by the occasion or what was riding on it. It was three points and although we felt hard done by on the day, we were pleased with the majority of the performance there.”
