Artell: "Walsall Are A Wounded Animal."

31 January 2020

David Artell says his Crewe Alexandra side have to get back to winning way away from home at Walsall this weekend. The Railwaymen have drawn their last two away games at Macclesfield and Scunthorpe and before that lost the top of the table clash 3-1 to Swindon Town.

In fact our last win on the road came at Stevenage before Christmas as we were also beaten 3-1 by Salford City on Boxing Day.

Ahead of our trip to the Midlands, Artell told the club’s official website: “We haven’t won in three or four games away from home so we have to back to winning ways. We have to pick that back up.

“We have to go to Walsall and get the three points but we have to be careful because we know that they are a wounded animal. They have lost two on the bounce and are wounded.

“They have a good manager, Darrell (Clarke) is a good manager, they have good players and have a good team.

“We have to match them and show our quality on the day.

He added: “It was a tough game at our place but we managed to win it. You could tell they were well organised, well drilled and had good players and I’ m sure they will be similar this weekend.”
