Chairman: "League Position Before Outbreak Shows We Are Heading In The Right Direction Again"

27 April 2020

John Bowler, the club’s long standing Chairman, says that seeing Crewe Alexandra top of League Two before the outbreak of the Covid-19 was testimony to the hard work conducted by manager David Artell and his support staff.

Crewe Alexandra are currently top of the division, just ahead of Swindon Town, who do have a game in hand and Bowler says that it has given us a real sense of pride to see the Railwaymen back in the promotion hunt.

The Club Chairman told crewealex.net:  “Everyone is delighted with the season we had before the outbreak and to see us top of the league at this stage reflects the hard work that Dave, Kenny (Lunt), John (Dillon) Fred (Barber), Alex (Morris) and all the support staff have done. It is reward for all the work the players and staff do at Reaseheath and we all hope they will get their real reward at the end of it.

“I think the league position shows that we are heading in the right direction. It reflects that we are not far behind and all the work and planning is paying off. We have to keep it going when it is safe to resume and continue to plan forward.

“We all want to strive to give our supporters something to look forward to and reward them too for the terrific support they have given us.”
