Lowery: "The Lads Are Confident And We Take That Into The Forest Green Game"

In-form midfielder geared up for top of the table clash

Alex midfielder Tommy Lowery says it was vital that we got back to winning ways in the league against Morecambe at the weekend. Lowery’s deflected shot made it 2-0 against the Shrimpers and took the game away from Derek Adams’ side even before Sam Lavelle. Crewe ran out 5-0 winners and could well have doubled that winning margin as was our dominance on the day.

Lowery was at his influential best again on Saturday, also hitting the crossbar with a superb effort from long distance as the Railwaymen got back to winning ways in style.

Tom told the club’s official website: “We have had a couple of tough weeks in the league so it was important we got back to winning games in the league again. That is what we all wanted and it was an important game for us. We got that win and the performance was good as well, so everyone was pleased afterwards.

“We have had to improve our consistency from last year, especially our away form. We have managed to do that and the lads are full of confidence.

“We feel that if we play as well as we can then we can beat anyone and that applies to Forest Green tomorrow. It is going to be another tough game but we think we can go there and get the three points.

Tom added: “The aim is to go on another little run to take into Christmas and New Year and that would put us in a good position going into the last few months of the season.”
