After conducting talks with manager David Artell, forward Shaun Miller, will be made available for a free transfer this summer.
Miller, 31, has struggled to cement his place in Artell’s starting XI this season after returning to his first club from Carlisle United on a permanent basis.
The former Coventry City, Sheffield United, Morecambe and York City striker is closing in on 100 career goals and has vast experience in every league below the Premier League.
Manager, Dave Artell, said: "I had a knock on my door and he asked whether he's going to play next season, in the system we are playing right now.
"I can't promise games to anyone, but we did start the season with 4-4-2 and he didn't get many goals.
"Now, in a 4-3-3, it does suit him less, but this is still at his request. I told him we wouldn't stand in his way.
"It's a credit to him really, he doesn't want to just pick up a wage, he wants to play and earn his money."
