Over 1,000 season tickets have been sold ahead of Friday's deadline

Assistant Manager Kenny Lunt is pleased with the uptake of early bird season tickets ahead of the upcoming 2019/20 season.

The first sales window, where supporters can purchase their new ticket for the cheapest price, ends on Friday with adults asked to pay just £295 before the deadline.

Lunt wants to reward the fans who are committing to the Alex cause with a positive start to the new season as the team look to build on a solid ending to the 2018/19 season.

Kenny told us: “It’s brilliant that the fans are getting in early to renew their tickets. Hopefully we can have a good start & give the fans something to cheer about.

“Hopefully we’ll start the new season like we ended the last one. From Christmas onwards we did really well & were up there in as one of the form teams.

“We want to give them more to shout about & then more & more come in & buy one.

“We had one of the best home records in the league last season so we want to replicate that. We want to keep on improving, especially the away form, & if we do that then we can be at the right end of the table.”
