Artell: "No One Is Getting Carried Away Here Because Of A Few Results"

22 January 2019

One game at a time for the gaffer and his players...

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says that no one in his camp is getting carried away with themselves after Charlie Kirk’s sixth goal of the season gave us a deserved 1-0 away win at MK Dons. It was only the club’s second away win of the campaign but a fairly consistent run over the holiday and New Year period means the Railwaymen have only lost one game in the last six.

The Alex boss is hoping that his team can reproduce their recent form again this weekend against another play-off hopeful in Colchester United.

Ahead of the clash at Gresty Road this Saturday, Artell told the club’s official website: “There is still a long way to go and a lot of games to play. No one here is getting ahead of ourselves because we have had a few decent results of late.

“We are a 3-0 defeat away from everyone saying that the wheels have fallen off, so we are not getting carried away at all. We have done well of late, have lost one in six, but we have to keep it going.

“We have been good lately and I’m sure the confidence and belief is much better but we have a tough game on Saturday and then another tough one against Carlisle and then another tough one at Macclesfield.

“We are just working hard and taking it one game at a time and let’s see where that takes us.”
