Boss prepares for the 'sprint finish' as the last hours of the transfer window.
David Artell has told the club’s official website that he is confident of landing another loan signing before the end of the January transfer to go along with the re-signing of Jamie Sterry from Newcastle United. Full-back Sterry has joined on loan until the end of the season after his successful loan spell in the second half of the last campaign.
Artell says he and his staff are working behind the scenes to try and get another over the line as soon as possible.
The Crewe boss told the club’s official website: “It is a team effort and we will keep beavering away at it. I am confident that we will get another one in and then we see from there.
“There isn’t an exact science to recruitment but we have done our homework on it and I would say we are close with one. I was working on it at ten o’clock last night and my phone was ringing again at half seven.
“We will take stock after hopefully this one gets over the line and see what can be done in the sprint finish. There may be a few twists and turns yet. Let us see where we get too.”
