Lunt: "Two New Lads Are Hungry To Get Into The Team"

6 February 2019

Crewe Alexandra’s assistant manager, Kenny Lunt says that the club’s two new loan signings, Jamie Sterry and Aaron Taylor-Sinclair are both ‘hungry’ to compete for a first-team place.

Lunt says that the recruitment in January was purposely focussed on bringing in two full-backs who will push for a first-team place in the last few months of the season. Sterry, we all know about following his successful loan spell from Newcastle United last season.

Taylor-Sinclair, who has come down from Motherwell, is determined to show his qualities to perhaps secure a move back to England after previously serving Doncaster Rovers and Plymouth Argyle.

Lunt told crewealex.net: “The two lads have come in and settled in well. They have trained well and we will see how they do this week. Their first aim will be to get into a team that has been doing well.

“They know it will be tough to get in at the moment but they are hungry and are prepared to fight for that place. That is what we wanted. We wanted that competition and the ability to move people around if necessary.

“We looked at a lot of players in January but it was difficult to find those that were on a par or better than what we had. We have got two good lads in, who are going to challenge for a place every day and that is what we wanted.”
