Green Targets Another Three Home Points In Our Quest To Become Challengers

21 February 2019

Crewe Alexandra midfielder, Paul Green, has told the club’s official website that the dressing room does not fear anyone at the moment. Crewe host play-off hopefuls Exeter City at the weekend aiming to claw back points on another of our potential rivals for a top seven finish.

Crewe’s upturn in results has coincided with the return to fitness of the influential Green but the former Doncaster and Leeds man is as modest as ever and stresses that the turnaround is totally a collective.

Paul told the club’s official website: “Exeter are another club that are up there and it is another chance for us to pick up three points from those above us. We have to keep doing that and catch up to that pack if we can.

“All we can do is carry on what we have been doing, especially at home, where we have been very good. We have been scoring goals and looking a threat, so when you do that, you always have a chance.

“The performances have been good and we have to keep it going and crack on. We are confident of getting a result against anyone at home. Even if we don’t play as well as we can, we have found a way to win and grind out that win and that is important.

He added: “Those points can make the difference at the end of the season but we are only focussed on Exeter. It is up to us to perform to our potential and aim for another three points.”
