David Artell has told the club’s official website that he is not surprised that scouts continue to flock to Gresty Road to watch the next generation of Crewe youngsters.
The Alex boss says he doesn’t take much interest in who is attending our games anymore because there are that many!
The likes of Perry Ng, Ryan Wintle, Callum Ainley, Tom Lowery and Charlie Kirk have all caught the eye at different stages of the season and that is before you consider the impact Harry Pickering made before his injury, the form of James Jones and the out-of-contract Ben Garratt and George Ray.
All have come through the club’s Academy system and the club have high hopes for the latest batch off the conveyor belt.
David told crewealex.net: “I am sure there are always scouts at our games. I never really look at the scouting list to see who is at the games because I know they are always there.
“Does that mean they will come in the summer and try and buy some of our players? I don’t know but I am not surprised that they come to our games to watch our young players, because we have some very good ones.”
