Perry Ng thoroughly deserved his double Player-of-the-Year awards according to boss David Artell. Ng was the worthy recipient of the Supporters’ award and also claimed the honour from his Crewe Alexandra team-mates as their choice.
Artell says that the Liverpool-born defender deserves the accolades because he has been our most consistent performer of the season.
The Crewe boss told the club’s official website: “Perry has been our most consistent player this season. He has played virtually every minute and hasn’t had a dip in form. He may have had the odd game here or there but nothing continuous.
“To play as many games as he has and at the level he has, at 22, is great credit to him. He has been terrific for us, at right back and when he has played at centre-half. He deserved the awards on Saturday evening.
“There is still room for improvement with him. He scored a few goals last season and he hasn’t got one this season. That is a travesty really because we know he can score goals with the shot he has. There is a big area of improvement there for next season because we all know he has the ability to score five or six goals.
“Pez is heading in the right direction, he is very accomplished with both feet and has become a terrific player for us.”
