Our former player, Ryan Lowe, returns to the Alexandra Stadium this weekend as manager of Bury and David Artell admits that the Liverpool-born Lowe will know our some of our players better than most.
Artell believes that Lowe is establishing a squad capable of being serious contenders for promotion once again, following their disappointing relegation from League One last time around.
Crewe will be looking to continue their good run of form at home, which has seen us collect 10 points from a possible 15 available.
Ahead of our home clash with the Shakers, David told us: “Ryan is a relatively new manager like myself and he will have his own ideas.
“He has spent some money and bought some good players in. He has added experienced professionals and he has gone that way with it. They have had a decent start to the season and they are a good side. I am sure there is more to come from them yet.
“I can see why a lot of people think they will be contenders this season.
“Ryan will know about us and some of the players, because he would have played with a lot of them when he was here but we know about their players as well. We always do our homework and we know what to expect, we know what is coming and there won’t be any major surprises I wouldn’t have thought.
David added: “We are at home, our home record has been good and we have to make sure that continues this weekend and Bury leave with nothing.”
