Boss Now Targets Back-To-Back Away Wins

22 October 2018

After finally recording that first away win of the season in the league at the weekend, Crewe Alexandra are now targeting back-to-back away wins at Yeovil Town on Tuesday evening.

Crewe recorded that first away success thanks to Jordan Bowery’s stunning strike at Stevenage and Crewe boss David Artell wants his side to back that up with another away victory at Huish Park.

Artell told the club’s official website:  “It was a real positive to get that first away win and if we can repeat that at Yeovil then that would put us in a strong position with two home games coming up.

“Suddenly you can go from the bottom half of the league into the top half very quickly. It could all change very quickly and those who are in mid-table can climb or fall very quickly. If you can be consistent and go unbeaten in six or seven then you will be in the top seven, likewise if you don’t do that and lose the majority then you will be down that very quickly. It is that sort of league.

“What we have to do it use the win at Stevenage and go on a decent run. It was a turning point last year when we were 2-0 down there and got a point. We went to Lincoln then and won 4-1 and with 15 games to go we went to 3rd in the form table. That is the challenge for us again.”
