Artell: "Those Knocks Don't Hurt As Much When You Are Winning"

29 October 2018

David Artell says that developing that winning habit means that ‘those knocks do not hurt as much’.

Crewe Alexandra’s quick turnaround sees them host Mansfield Town at Gresty Road tomorrow evening and the Alex boss says there are no other injury concerns.

Following the 2-0 win over Grimsby Town that saw Crewe extend their unbeaten run to four games, the Alex boss said: “We are looking alright and there are no new injuries to worry about.

“If you ask any medical insurance company they will tell you that in any league, the amount of spend on medical bills is usually proportionate to where they are in the table. If you are bottom then the medical bills tend to be higher. That is how it usually works.

“The best cure is winning. When you are winning and things are going well those knocks don’t hurt as much.”

Crewe Alexandra’s only long-term injury is midfielder Paul Green, who is still out with a knee injury.
