Jones Remains A Doubt For FA Cup Tie

6 November 2018

Crewe Alexandra midfielder James Jones remains a doubt for this weekend’s FA Cup tie against fellow League Two side Carlisle United after he suffered a slight hamstring injury in the week.

The former Scotland Under-21 International withdrew from the squad for the Northampton game on Thursday after reporting tightness in the muscle. Ollie Finney came into the starting XI to mark his first league start for the football club.

David Artell told the club’s official website: “James has a hamstring injury. He came in on Thursday and said there was a problem with his hamstring.

“All we can do is keep an eye on that and see how he is. He will be a doubt for the weekend as he is unlikely to train. We will monitor him.”

The boss also revealed that we have permission from Liverpool to play Corey Whelan in the FA Cup if selected.
