Boss: "Bowery Has Potential To Become Even More Effective"

7 November 2018

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says that Jordan Bowery is working hard to become an even more effective centre-forward.

Like many in the Crewe Alexandra squad the 27-year-old is striving to become more consistent in games and become the player his potential has already shown in the past.

His superbly taken winner at Stevenage is already a possible favourite for the club’s Goal-of-the-Season award and he was virtually unplayable against Macclesfield Town and Grimsby Town.

Artell says that the staff will continue to work hard on the former Aston Villa and Chesterfield striker producing the goods more often.

The Crewe boss told crewealex.net: “Jordan has great ability. He has all the ability in the world but he doesn’t show it often enough. He has shown it enough in the past to earn a move to the Premier League and you don’t play in the Premier League unless you are a very good player.

“He is older and wiser from that experience at Aston Villa and there is no reason why he cannot come again. He is a great kid and his work rate is unquestioned.

“We are working with him to become more effective and improve. He takes things on board and all credit to him. He wants to improve himself as a footballer and we will do we can to help him.”
