David Artell was quick to praise the contribution of his in-form striker Jordan Bowery after his two goals helped defeat Forest Green Rovers last night.
Bowery produced one of his finest performances in a Crewe Alexandra shirt to inspire us to a valuable victory in our quest to remain in the EFL.
Bowery certainly occupied the Forest Green Rovers centre-halves with his physical presence and willingness to run the channels for the team.
Artell described the former Aston Villa man as an ‘absolute colossus’ for us.
He said: “Jordan was an absolute colossus for us and he was the best player on the pitch by a country mile. He was terrific for us.
“To be able to drag that energy out of himself was just phenomenal. I’ve haven’t had chance to study the GPS stuff yet but he certainly put a shift in for the team. He and Harry (McKirdy) set the tone for the performance early on. They worked their socks off.
“The two centre-halves certainly knew they had been in a game that’s for sure.
“It is five goals in four games for Jordan and he is on a good roll. Fair play to him. He has to carry that on. “
