Artell All Set For 'Toughest Game Of The Season'

16 March 2018

David Artell believes that this weekend’s home encounter with Coventry City will be our ‘hardest game of the season’.

The Alex boss is a keen admirer of the job his former Rotherham United teammate Mark Robins has achieved with the Sky Blues. Their 2-2 draw with promotion rivals Luton Town in midweek saw them move into the play-off places.

Artell remains confident though that his Crewe Alexandra side can achieve a positive result in front of the home crowd tomorrow.

“Coventry are a very good side and their manager (Robins) knows his stuff. I’ve seen them a few times this season and I think it will be our hardest game of the season this weekend, ‘says the Alex boss.

“They are a top side and we will have to be up to the fight. They don’t concede too many goals. They are resolute and they have players who can hurt you in the final third.

“The onus will be on us more than the last two games because we are at home but we have to be careful not to fall in the trap of being hit on the break. We have to be patient and hopefully the chances will come.

David concluded: “We have had two decent results on the road and we have played well for the last few weeks. We are in some decent form and if we play to our potential then we can get another good result against a very good side.”
